How the textures tile

A texture tiles when its left edge continues into its right edge and its top into its bottom. Here that comes from the maths, not from blending edges afterwards. The noise lattice wraps around with a whole number of cells on each axis, every octave doubles that number, and cellular distances are measured across the wrap. Nothing is cropped or mirrored, so you get no visible seams and no mirror symmetry.

Turn on Tile preview to see a 3×3 repeat of the current texture before you download it.

Recipes

Marble runs a sine through turbulence. Clouds are thresholded fBm. Stone darkens Worley cell edges with turbulence. Cells shows plain Worley distance. Contours bands fBm into terrain-map steps with dark lines. Plain gives you the raw noise. Each recipe uses the palette ramp, so the same structure can be grey stone, green malachite or a pastel backdrop.

Reproducible by design

Every image comes from a seed. The address bar holds the generator, the seed, the size and only the settings you changed, so the link redraws the exact same picture on any device. That is useful for picking up where you left off, sending someone a design, or regenerating a file at a bigger size later. See how it works.

Questions

Will the texture really repeat without a seam?

Yes. Seamless stays locked on this page, and rolls only pick recipes that can wrap. Turn on Tile preview to check a 3×3 repeat before downloading.

Why is wood not offered here?

Wood rings radiate from a centre point, so they cannot continue across opposite edges. Wood is available on the noise generator without seamless mode.

What size should a tileable texture be?

Power-of-two squares (512, 1024, 2048) suit game engines and 3D tools. Seamless mode works at any size, because cell counts are rounded to whole numbers on each axis.

Can I use these in Blender, Unity or CSS backgrounds?

Yes. They are ordinary PNG, JPEG or WebP files. In CSS, use background-repeat: repeat with background-size set to the tile size.
